How did you become interested in maritime?
Shafiqah: My inspiration came from my mother. She has been one of my biggest sources of inspiration and her support is a key reason in my decision to pursue a career in maritime. Watching her navigate the dynamic, global landscape of the industry revealed the vast possibilities. Her dedication and passion sparked my interest and guided me towards this career path.
Don: My interest in the maritime industry was first sparked by my aunt, who has worked in the industry for years. However, it wasn’t until the COVID-19 pandemic that I truly began to appreciate the immense contributions of the maritime sector. While many industries came to a standstill, maritime operations kept global supply chains running, often behind the scenes. This resilience and the sector’s vital contributions inspired me to pursue a career in maritime.
