Jaryl Goh Jun Zhong

“A song that’s inspired me is ‘You Better Know’ by Red Velvet. Its lyrics are meaningful and encouraging, reminding you that you’re enough and to chase your dreams. Lines like ‘There’s a world that’s been waiting for you as you are,’ and ‘It’s alright to take a rest… like that wildflower that’s bloomed slowly,’ really speak to me. It’s uplifting during times of burnout or self-doubt, and a great reminder that it’s okay to take a break sometimes.”

Simran Kaur

“I love exploring music in different languages! I’m not tied to one specific album or artist, but I often find myself going back to my personal Afrobeats playlist, which I started building during my early days in polytechnic. One of my favourites in there is ‘This Year (Blessings)’ by Victor Thompson. It’s full of gratitude, and it reminds me to slow down, stay thankful, and trust that good things are coming—especially when life feels overwhelming.”
– Simran Kaur D/O Ranjit Singh, Bernhard Schulte – MaritimeONE Scholar

Vera Lam Kai Ting

“Lately, I’ve been listening to ‘You’re On Your Own, Kid’ by Taylor Swift. The lyrics really resonate with me, especially the message about growth, independence, and learning to believe in yourself even when things get tough. It’s a reminder that challenges are part of life, and sometimes, stepping out of your comfort zone is exactly what you need to grow, especially in a fast-paced industry like public transport.”
– Vera Lam Kai Ting, Singapore-Industry Scholar

Tan Hui Min

“‘Moments’ by Hollow Coves. It reminds me that time is a precious commodity in our fast-paced life in Singapore and to treasure the moments we share with those we love.”
– Tan Hui Min, Social Service Scholar
