Benjamin Lee Jie Ming is a recipient of the CAG Undergraduate Scholarship. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Communication Studies at NTU.
At an airport, communication is key to keeping operations running like clockwork. With tight schedules, strict safety protocols, and constant operational shifts, an airport operates under immense pressure, where it is therefore crucial that every piece of information is effectively communicated. At the heart of its operations is a dedicated team working relentlessly to deliver an exceptional experience for every passenger. Benjamin Lee Jie Ming, Changi Airport Group (CAG) Undergraduate Scholar, understands this well.
Currently pursuing a Communication Studies degree at NTU, Benjamin’s fascination with aviation began in childhood, sparked by his curiosity about the behind-the-scenes operations that ensure air travel runs without a hitch.
Today, as a CAG Scholar, Benjamin is eager to leverage his strategic communication skills in airport management to elevate the passenger experience at one of the world’s most renowned airports. For him, the road ahead is not just about conveying messages—it’s also about forging connections that make every traveller’s journey smoother, more efficient, and memorable. He shares more about his journey and aspirations for the future.
How did you discover the CAG Scholarship?
I first came across the CAG Scholarship through BrightSparks while researching different scholarship opportunities. Additionally, I learned more through career talks and networking sessions with seniors who shared their positive experiences with CAG.

Looking back on your application process, what’s one moment that stood out to you?
One memorable aspect of my application process was the interview stage. Despite it being held virtually (in 2021 due to circuit breaker measures), the panel was highly engaging! Rather than just assessing my qualifications, they genuinely wanted to understand my aspirations and how I envisioned contributing to CAG. The discussions went beyond standard questions, delving into my views on airport innovations and passenger experience.
