Infocomm Media Development Authority

Singapore Digital (SG:D) Scholarship (Polytechnic)

Courses / Disciplines: • Infocomm media related courses (i.e. courses under Information & Digital Technologies cluster or Arts, Design & Media cluster)
Universities / Institutions: The scholarship is only available for Singapore’s 5 local Polytechnics: Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic, and Temasek Polytechnic
Value & Benefits: • Full tuition fees and compulsory polytechnic fees
• One-time computer allowance
• Funding support for courses and certification
• Support for overseas internships in ICM-related roles which includes:
  - Economy class return airfare
  - Cost of living allowances
• Support for overseas exposure (student exchange programme, study trips, overseas competition)
Requirements: • Be a Singapore citizen
• Have excellent Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) records
• Possess a strong interest in infocomm media industry
• Matriculate into an approved infocomm-related or media- related course or other related studies (as approved by IMDA)* offered at any of the five local polytechnics
Bond Duration: No bond

Singapore Digital (SG:D) Scholarship (Undergraduate)

Note: The former National Infocomm Scholarship (NIS), Media Education Scholarship (MES) and MES (Film) are subsumed under SG:D Scholarship (Undergraduate)
Courses / Disciplines: Infocomm Media Related Courses such as:
• Animation
• Artificial Intelligence
• Communications
• Cybersecurity
• Data Analytics
• TV/Film Studies
• Game Design
• Humanities (including Language Studies)
• STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
Universities / Institutions: Local autonomous universities / approved institutions or renowned overseas universities
Value & Benefits: • Tuition and other compulsory university fees
• Living allowance
• One-time pre-studies allowance including settling-in and computer allowance
• Support for overseas internship(s) in ICM-related roles which includes:
  - Economy class return airfare
  - Cost of living allowances
• Support for overseas exposure (student exchange programme, study trips, overseas competition)
• Funding support for courses and certifications for scholars to upgrade themselves with industry-relevant skills
Requirements: • Be a Singapore citizen
• Have good CCA records, portfolio, etc.
• Possess strong interest in an infocomm media career
• For Full Scholarship - ‘A’ Level, IP / IB, or Polytechnic results
• For Mid-Term Scholarship - current undergraduate in an infocomm media related degree at a local autonomous university or renowned overseas university with minimally 1 year of studies remaining from the point of award
Bond Duration: 4 types of scholarships with the following bond period:
• Full Overseas scholarship – 5 years bond
• Fast Track Bachelors-Masters scholarship – 4 years bond
• Full Local scholarship – 3 years bond
• Mid-term Local / Overseas scholarship – 1 to 4 years bond dependent on the duration of sponsorship

Note: The former National Cybersecurity Postgraduate Scholarship (NCPS), and postgraduate tracks under Media Education Scholarship (MES) and MES (Film) are subsumed under SG:D Scholarship (Postgraduate)
Courses / Disciplines: Infocomm Media Related Courses such as:
• Animation

• Living allowance and/or stipend, and relevant allowances (e.g. thesis allowance)
• Support for overseas internship(s) in ICM-related roles which includes:
  - Economy class return airfare
  - Cost of living allowances
• Support for overseas exposure (student exchange programme, study trips)
• Funding support for courses and certifications for scholars to upgrade themselves with industry-relevant skills

Part time Masters studies:
• Tuition and other compulsory university fees
• Funding support for courses and certifications for scholars to upgrade themselves with industry-relevant skills
Requirements: • Be a Singapore citizen
• Possess a strong interest for a career in the infocomm media industry
• Have a strong portfolio if applying for a creative or film-related course

For Masters studies, applicants have to be:
• Enrolled full-time or part-time in an ICM-related masters programme in a local autonomous / approved institution or renowned overseas university; or
• Current postgraduate in an ICM-related Masters programme with minimally 1 year of studies remaining from the point of award

For PhD studies, applicants have to be:
• Enrolled full-time or part-time in an ICM-related PhD programme in a local autonomous / approved institution or renowned overseas university; or
• Current postgraduate in an ICM-related PhD programme with minimally 1 year of studies remaining from the point of award
Bond Duration: For Masters studies:
• Overseas scholarship: 2 - 3 years bond dependent on the duration of sponsorship
• Full Local scholarship: 2 years bond
• Mid-term Local: 1 year
• Part-time Local: No Bond

For PhD studies:
• Overseas scholarship: 3 - 5 years bond dependent on the duration of sponsorship
• Full or Mid-term Local scholarship: No bond

IRAS Merit Undergraduate Scholarship

Courses / Disciplines: You may pursue any course of study that has relevance to the different areas of work at IRAS.
Some of these include:

• Accountancy
• Business
• Economics
• Information Technology
• Real Estate
• Statistics
Universities / Institutions: Local awards:
Tenable in approved local universities

Overseas awards:
Tenable in top overseas universities
Value & Benefits: The scholarship gives you the flexibility to choose to study either a local or an overseas course. You will receive full sponsorship for a local course. For overseas courses, IRAS will partially sponsor you the same amount as the sponsorship for an equivalent local course.

Scholarships for local course cover:
• Maintenance allowance (inclusive of hostel allowance and book allowance)
• Pre-studies allowance
• Computer allowance
• Miscellaneous allowance
• Tuition and other compulsory fees
• Attachment with IRAS
• Sponsorship of approved overseas exchange and Master’s programmes (if applicable)
• Mentoring by a member of the senior management

Scholarships for overseas course cover:
• Annual allowance (inclusive of maintenance and hostel allowances and tuition and compulsory fees based on a similar local course)
• Pre-studies allowance
• Computer allowance
• Miscellaneous allowance
• Return airfare (for attachment in IRAS; to overseas exchange)
• Vacation attachment with IRAS
• Sponsorship of approved overseas exchange
(if applicable)
• Mentoring by a member of the senior management
Requirements: • Passion to serve and take on a challenging career in tax
• Outstanding GCE ‘A’ Level, Polytechnic results or equivalent (E.g. International Baccalaureate (IB), NUS High School Diploma)
• Singapore citizens and permanent residents (PRs) intending to take up citizenship
• Outstanding CCA records and leadership qualities
• Those currently serving NS are also eligible to apply
Bond Duration: 4 years

IRAS Overseas Undergraduate Scholarship

Courses / Disciplines: You may pursue any course of study that has relevance to the different areas of work at IRAS.
Some of these include:

Universities / Institutions: Tenable in top overseas universities
Value & Benefits: Overseas scholarships cover:
• Maintenance allowance (inclusive of book allowance)
• Pre-studies allowance (inclusive of warm clothing and settling-in allowances)
• Computer allowance
• Miscellaneous allowance
• Tuition and other compulsory fees
• Return airfare (at beginning and end of course; for attachment in IRAS; to overseas exchange)
• Vacation attachment with IRAS
• Sponsorship of approved overseas exchange and Masters programmes (if applicable)
• Mentoring by a member of the senior management
Requirements: • Passion to serve and take on a challenging career in tax

Benefits for scholarships for local courses are the same as the IRAS Merit Undergraduate scholarships for local courses

• Good university results for existing undergraduates
• Singapore citizens or permanent residents (PRs) intending to take up citizenship
• Outstanding co-curricular records and leadership qualities
