Striving for Growth

Bryan’s interest in human resources (HR) was sparked during his tenure in the Army. His involvement in training and development illuminated the profound impact of well-designed programmes for trainees, igniting his passion for the field. This drive led him to pursue a Bachelor of Human Resource Management with a minor in Data Analytics.

Choosing SUSS was a natural fit for Bryan, as the university’s flexible curriculum and comprehensive programme seamlessly resonated with his goals. Recognising the immense potential for utilising data analytics to track and visualise HR-related insights within organisations, Bryan was eager to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to bring about this change.

“I picked SUSS as it has a flexible curriculum that allows us to balance hands-on experience and coursework. Furthermore, I decided to pursue this degree programme as I believe in the power of merging HR practices with data-driven insights. It perfectly aligned with my vision,” he said.

To support his educational journey, Bryan applied for the prestigious Mohamed Abdul Jaleel Scholarship at SUSS. The scholarship supports undergraduates from the S R Nathan School of Human Development who are passionate about promoting human flourishing. Being awarded the scholarship alleviated his financial burden and allowed him to pursue internships that aligned with his professional goals.

Bryan interned at the Bank of Singapore before joining Goodpack IBC Singapore Pte Ltd, a multinational company where he serves as an HR Operations Intern. Working closely with a global HR manager, he gains firsthand exposure to international HR practices. During his time at Goodpack IBC, Bryan has been involved in developing a Power BI dashboard that enables HR teams to visualise and interpret key employee metrics. He also plays a crucial role in contributing to a business continuity plan, ensuring the organisation is well-prepared to handle unforeseen disruptions.

“These experiences further solidified my understanding of the importance of data analytics in HR decision-making and deepened my passion for the field,” Bryan shared.

“SUSS is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to not only delve into academics but also to prepare for the real world. It offers a holistic approach, encompassing academic and non-academic dimensions.
