1. As Power Engineers, our role involves the maintenance of high voltage and low voltage systems that power the movement of trains and operations of the rail network, and the engineering work to monitor, analyse and improve the reliability of the power system. In short, we oversee and safeguard the power and supply for our railway to provide uninterrupted train service to commuters.

3. Looking at ways to improve reliability is also part of my role as I analyse projected justifications of prospective projects, to ensure that our assets are renewed or replaced within the tolerances of the equipment’s lifecycle. I also work closely with other teams such as System Management to carry out Asset Condition Assessments, Lifecycle Costing and Life Extension studies to balance and maximise the performance of an asset to its cost of operation.
