Early Childhood Development Agency

ECDA ITE Training Award

Courses / Disciplines: Higher Nitec in Early Childhood Education
Universities / Institutions: ITE College Central
Value & Benefits: • Full Course Sponsorship (capped at the amount payable by Singapore Citizens)
• One-off Learning Resource Grant of $1,000 for study-related expenses
• Monthly Study Allowance of $500
• Annual Professional Development Grant of up to $1,000 per year for approved Early Childhood-related supplementary courses
Requirements: • Be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident at point of application.
• Be a first or second year student in full-time Higher NITEC in Early Childhood Education at ITE with endorsement from their teachers
• Must not concurrently hold or be serving out their bond for any scholarship, bursary or funding
• Have a keen interest to start their career in a pre-school immediately after graduation
Bond Duration: 1-year bond to the Early Childhood sector for each year of support

ECDA Training Award (Poly)

Courses / Disciplines: • Diploma in Early Childhood Education
• Diploma in Child Psychology and Early Education
• Diploma in Early Childhood Studies
Universities / Institutions: Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic
Value & Benefits: • Full Course Sponsorship (capped at the amount payable by Singapore Citizens)
• One-off Learning Resource Grant of $1,050 for study-related expenses
• Monthly Study Allowance of $800
• Annual Professional Development Grant of up to $1,000 per year for approved Early Childhood-related supplementary courses
Requirements: • Be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident at point of application.
• Be a full-time student in an ECCE diploma course at either Ngee Ann Polytechnic or Temasek Polytechnic. All students in their first, second or third year of studies are eligible to apply.
• Must not concurrently hold or be serving out their bond for any scholarship, bursary or funding
• Have a keen interest to start their career in a pre-school immediately after graduation.
Bond Duration: 1-year bond to the Early Childhood sector for each year of support

Courses / Disciplines: Master of Education (Early Childhood)
Universities / Institutions: National Institute of Education
Value & Benefits: • 100% of course fee (capped at the amount payable by Singapore Citizens)
• $2,000 Learning Resource Allowance
• $2,500 Centre Subsidy
• $2,000 Study Bonus (to be given upon successful course completion)
Requirements: • Be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident and above at the point of application.
• Be an ECDA-certified L2 teacher/supervisor/principal and currently employed in the Early Childhood sector with at least 4 years of pre-school teaching experence.
• Have a good Bachelor’s degree.
• Have at least 5 GCE ‘O’ Level credits including a B4 in EL1 (or acceptable alternatives*).
• Be strongly recommended by the kindergarten/child care centre management.
• Not concurrently serving a bond and/or holding any other scholarship, bursary or other forms of funding.
• Must have applied to the programme before applying for Scholarships. • Must have been accepted into the programme.

Bond Duration: 2-year bond to the Early Childhood sector

Courses / Disciplines: Bachelor of Early Childhood Education with one of the following Minors:
- Art Education
- Chinese Language
- Malay Language
- Management
- Music Education
- Psychology
- Sociology
- Tamil Language
Universities / Institutions: SIM University
Value & Benefits: • 100% of course fee (capped at the amount payable by Singapore Citizens)
• $2,000 Learning Resource Allowance
• $2,500 Centre Subsidy
• $2,000 Study Bonus (to be given upon successful course completion)
Requirements: • Be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident aged 21 and above at the point of application.
• Be an ECDA-certified L2 teacher/supervisor/principal and currently employed in the Early Childhood sector with at least 2 years of pre-school teaching experience.
• Have at least 5 GCE ‘O’ Level credits including a B4 in EL1 (or acceptable alternatives*)

Universities / Institutions: SIM University

• Have at least 5 GCE ‘O’ Level credits including a B4 in Higher Chinese or A2 in Chinese Language.
• Be strongly recommended by the kindergarten/child care centre management.
• Not concurrently serving bond and or holding any other scholarship, bursary or other forms of funding.
• Must have applied to the programme before applying for Scholarship
• Must be accepted into the programme.
Bond Duration: 2-year bond to the Early Childhood sector

Courses / Disciplines: Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education
Universities / Institutions: Singapore Institute of Technology
Value & Benefits: • 100% of course fee (capped at the amount payable by Singapore Citizens)
• $2,000 Learning Resource Allowance
• $600 monthly Training Allowance
• 100% Sponsorship (up to a cap of $10,000) for Overseas Immersion Programme
Requirements: • Be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident at point of application.
• Preferably 2 years of pre-school teaching experience.
• Have at least 5 GCE ‘O’ Level credits including a B4 in EL1 (or acceptable alternatives*).
• Must have completed one of the following programmes with a CGPA of at least 3.00:
  - Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Ngee Ann Polytechnic.   - Diploma in Child Psychology and Early Education, Ngee Ann Polytechnic.   - Diploma in Early Childhood Studies, Temasek Polytechnic. • Not concurrently serving bond and/or holding any other scholarship, bursary or other forms of funding.
