"A distinguishing factor of the scholarship would be that it caters to diverse areas of interest, from agricultural sciences to food technology. It is possible to obtain a scholarship to pursue an education that is in tandem with one's interests and equips him or her with the technical knowledge and skills to contribute to SFA's work. This scholarship provides me with a global perspective on issues, such as international trade in agriculture, which is a key component in our globalised world. For example, learning about food broadens my understanding of other social, political and environmental issues. To learn about food is to learn about our world, which places one in good stead in our increasingly globalised world."

"A scholarship definitely provides many benefits, such as job security upon graduation as well as financial support. The internships I took part in during my undergrad days have also aided me in making a more informed decision when opting for which department to join after graduation. I would definitely encourage everyone who is passionate and keen to try applying and not be daunted by the application process. Ask questions as well during the selection interviews, as it can help affirm one's decision to take up a scholarship with that particular company, or otherwise."

" I always had a keen interest in sustainability and the environment, and wanted to pursue a career that positively impacts society. The NEW scholarship gave me opportunities to experience learning overseas and internships within NEA, which helped broaden my perspective on environmental issues and developed skills for a career in the environment sector.
During my time in NEA, I was exposed to different facets of NEA's work from the ground up. It has been a humbling learning experience and has deepened my appreciation of the effort that goes behind ensuring a clean and sustainable environment for Singapore. "
The scholarship application cycle runs from October and closes two weeks after the release of 'A' Level results.
