FAQs

Please refer to some of the commonly asked questions below, otherwise you may wish to reach out to the CCMDA Secretariat via email at [email protected].

1. How will my bond period be determined?

It will be determined based on the duration of the programme that you are sponsored with under CCMDA. You may wish to refer to Annex B of the Funding Guide for more details.

2. Do I have to be bonded to a Community Care Organisation (CCO)?

Yes, you will be bonded to a CCO and start full employment with the organisation after completion of your programme/course as part of your service obligations.

3. Do I have to secure a sponsoring CCO before I can apply for the CCMDA?

Yes, you are required to secure a sponsoring CCO before you can submit your application for the CCMDA as they will be sponsoring part of your programme/course.

For fresh entrants, please send your resume to the CCO of your choice and indicate in your resume that you are keen to apply for CCMDA. If you are shortlisted for an interview and subsequently found suitable for a role within the CCO, the CCO will then submit the CCMDA application to AIC for you.

Alternatively, you can submit the application and your resume via the Brightsparks portal and we will assist to link you up with CCO(s) of choice.

4. What will be the percentage of sponsorship provided?

The CCMDA will cover up to 90% of programme/course fees and other compulsory costs. The remaining 10% will be co-funded by the sponsoring CCO. Hence, the recipient is not expected to pay for items covered under the sponsorship.

5. If I have intention to change CCO midway, will that be possible?

As the sponsoring CCO is co-funding the award and has spent time and resources to interview awardees and process their application, awardees are required to commit to the sponsoring CCO that submitted their application at the start. If you have any further concerns, you can reach out to your CCO or AIC.

6. If I want to terminate my sponsorship while serving bond, how will my liquidated damages be calculated?

It will be pro-rated based on the outstanding bond period, with the amount derived from the monies paid out to CCO and 10% interest on the final amount.

7. Should I wish to change my programme/course midway to another pre-approved course, will that be possible?

Please inform your CCO and AIC. You will have to withdraw your current programme/course and re-apply the new programme/course as a new application. It will be assessed and approved on a case-by-case basis. Liquidated damages may apply.

8. Do I need to maintain good results throughout the sponsorship period?

We will have regular check-ins to ensure you are keeping up with the curriculum and can maintain satisfactory results through your CCMDA journey so that you are able to graduate as per the expected timeline.
