FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)
Our early application cycle is now open and closes on 20 December. Alternatively, you may apply through the main cycle which opens in early February and closes on 31 March.
You can use your preliminary results if available or predicted 'A' Level/IB Programme results. Male applicants who will have to enlist for National Service may prefer to apply during the early cycle.
You should have excellent grades in your GCE 'A' Level, IB or NUS High School programme. For polytechnic graduates, the requirement is Diploma with Merit. You should also have excellent CCA track records and leadership potential as well. We will also consider students with foreign language capabilities.
If you apply through the early cycle, we will begin assessing candidates after the GCE 'A' Level exams. If you apply during the main cycle in February, the selection process will start in February and end in May.
The selection process consists of written assessments, a video interview, group assessment and interviews with senior management.
You can apply through the early or main cycle. However, note that you can only attend the interviews during your NS block-leave periods between May and July if you are enlisted. Hence, we recommend that you apply in the early cycle before your NS enlistment or else you can also consider applying when you are about to complete your NS when it is easier for you to apply for leave. If you are successful in your application, an offer will be made to you. Upon accepting our offer, we will hold the scholarship for you until you have completed your NS.
We are glad to see that applicants remain interested in Enterprise Singapore's work and welcome candidates to apply for the scholarship in subsequent cycles with their updated academic results and experiences. We also highly encourage applicants to explore internship opportunities with us to get a better understanding of what we do before submitting another application.
Courses and universities
We support all disciplines except Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing, Music, Law and Architecture.
Enterprise Singapore supports its scholars up to a Master's degree. This is subject to approval, the scholar's academic performance, choice of universities, and our prevailing policy.
We do not stipulate a list of approved universities but the general guideline is that the university must be amongst the top for the related field of study you intend to pursue.
Fees and financial matters
The scholarship is a full scholarship which covers all tuition fees, living allowance, pre-studies & travel allowances and other miscellaneous expenses.
Scholars pursuing their undergraduate studies in the US and UK have a five-year bond. Scholars pursuing their undergraduate studies in non-English speaking countries (e.g. France, Germany, Japan or China) have a four-year bond. Scholars pursuing their undergraduate studies at local universities in Singapore will serve a two-year bond.
Career opportunities
When ESG scholars return from their studies, they will join the ESG Management Associate Programme (MAP), a year-long structured programme for fresh graduates to experience first-hand exposure to Singapore's entrepreneurship landscape, diverse businesses & industries, and internationalisation efforts. The Management Associates (MAs) will go undergo 2 or 3 job postings during the programme, to the frontline industry clusters, middle office and/or a stint in the global markets. After the programme, the MAs will be deployed all over ESG, to contribute to our multi-faceted work that helps Singapore enterprises grow stronger and ultimately create good jobs for Singaporeans.
