NHB Scholarship
Love heritage? Join us to preserve and celebrate our shared heritage with the NHB Scholarship.

The NHB Scholarship supports passionate individuals to pursue full-time undergraduate or postgraduate studies (up to Masters) in various disciplines that will develop the skills for an exciting and meaningful career in the field of culture and heritage.

The areas of specialisation may include:
  • Archaeology
  • Conservation
  • Museum Studies / Education
  • Curatorial Studies
  • History (Singapore, Southeast Asia)
  • Cultural, Heritage Management

Upon the successful completion of your programme, you will be under the employment of NHB where you will be exposed to the different areas of our work. You will serve a bond of 3 years (for local scholarship, overseas partial scholarship) or 6 years (for overseas full scholarship).
Eligibility
All Singaporeans are welcome to apply for the NHB Scholarship.

Applicants who are awaiting admission to tertiary institutions are also welcomed. However, proof of admission into the institution must be produced at the time of your scheduled interview.

You may not apply if you are receiving financial assistance from another institution or organisation, or if you have commenced your course of studies.
Assessment Criteria
You would be assessed on the following criteria (in no order of priority):
  • Your academic records and participation in extra-curricular activities;
  • Benefits and value of the programme – how it influences the development of the heritage and culture sector in Singapore, and your personal development;
  • Your passion for heritage and culture;
  • Your achievements, track records and relevant experience (if any)

The closing date for all applications is 15 March 2018. Please refer to the application portal for the list of supporting documents required.
Selection Process
The selection process is as follows:
  • 15 March 2018
  • Closing Date of Applications
  • May 2018
  • Selection interview for shortlisted applicants
  • June 2018
  • Successful candidates informed
  • By early August 2018
  • Scholarship Award Ceremony
Only shortlisted applicants will be notified. NHB reserves the right not to disclose the reasons for approving or rejecting any application, and to reject any incomplete application.
