Our Employee Value Proposition

cp1 We Impact the Community

Building on NLB's long tradition of promoting reading, we are ramping up our efforts to bridge societal gaps and empower as many people as we can in this digital age. We will extend our outreach to children from lower-income families to share the joy of learning, as well as equip seniors with digital skills.

For example, the Punggol Regional Library is designed to be inclusive and accessible to all, including those with disabilities. Among some of the features are Borrow-n-Go, wheelchair-accessible book borrowing stations which are dedicated passageways for wheelchair users to borrow books, an accessible collection including Braille books with text for those with visual impairments and calm pods - a waiting area with sensory aids and a beanbag, and a more private space with padded walls and flooring.

cp2 We Innovate and Push Boundaries

NLB continually capitalises on emerging opportunities to innovate through resource and digital innovation, and keep its place in the hearts and minds of people in Singapore. This creates learning opportunities, greater access to library resources, services and archival collections, as well as a continual development of innovative library spaces.

cp3 We Care for your Growth and Well-Being

We offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, including flexible benefits and a comprehensive leave scheme including child-care leave, family care leave and study leave. As a strong advocate of work-life harmony, we also provide flexi-work arrangements such as staggered working hours and hybrid working arrangements.

We believe in self-care and mental wellness. One of the most well-received initiatives that we have introduced is a monthly two-hour self-care time-off where staff take time out to care for their wellbeing.
