SPH Journalism Scholarship (Full-Term) ( Application till 2022-11-18 )

Selected candidates will have the opportunity of an immediate internship in the newsroom.

Type of Scholarship

For recent A-Level, Diploma, International Baccalaureate (IB) or equivalent qualifications (e.g., NUS high school diploma) graduates.

Requirements

  • Singapore Citizen or Singapore PR

  • Excellent academic record

  • Good CCA and/or NS records

  • Interest in news and current affairs

  • Enjoys creating engaging multimedia content

Potential Career Path and Developmental Opportunities

Scholars will be offered internship opportunities to work on exciting projects within the organisations. Supervisors / Mentors will be appointed to coach and guide you.

You will have opportunities to be rotated across different areas to gain exposure and experience. Outstanding scholars will also be groomed for top leadership positions within the company.

Fields of Study

All fields of study, except medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, architecture, or law.

Universities

Both local and overseas universities.

Service Commitment

  • Local: 3 to 4 years

  • Overseas: 3 to 6 years

The actual bond period depends on the university enrolled in, the course of study, and the number of years sponsored.

Application Process

Applications are open from Nov 2021 to 15 Mar 2022.

The selection process involves interviews, online assessments, and an internship stint with SPH.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted to proceed to the next part of the application process.
