Innovations are not just improving people's lives, they have become an important means for economies and businesses to stay competitive in today's global marketplace. In such an innovation-driven environment, the realisation that intangible assets (IA) and intellectual property (IP) currently make up the bulk of companies' value has fuelled the need for professionals with quality IA/IP expertise — talents who can develop and align IA/IP strategies to achieve business goals, and business leaders who can reap the benefits of their innovations and IA/IP.

IP Management

In today's knowledge-based economy, where goods and services may no longer be tangible at all, an understanding of IP will be essential to all businesses. The Graduate Diploma in IP and Innovation Management (IP Management) (GDIPIMM) programme aims to prepare professionals, managers and executives to gain knowledge in IP to appreciate how intangible assets can be a valuable tool for commercial success, acquire IP skills to value-add to their domain specialisations in preparing for the future economy, and develop IP and innovation capabilities that are portable across industries.

GDIPIMM2

The GDIPIMM programme is the first and only graduate diploma programme in IP and innovation management offered in Singapore. Don't miss this unique learning opportunity – apply today and be part of a specialised group of professionals with the IP management skills to be able to work with innovation and leverage on IP to maximise business growth and shape Singapore's future economy.

Programme Structure

The Graduate Diploma in IP and Innovation Management (IP Management) curriculum builds on a common core foundation on IP law and IP management. To graduate with the GDIPIMM, students are required to complete 30 credit units (cu) comprising 6 (six) compulsory core courses. Individuals could opt for multiple pathways in which they may graduate with a graduate certificate and graduate diploma or a master's degree.

GDIPIMM graduates with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 can opt to continue with the corresponding Master of IP and Innovation Management (MIPIM) programme and complete the remaining 30 cu to qualify for the Master degree. As with the MIPIM, for IP Technology and Patent Agency specialisation, a science, engineering or technical degree is preferred.

Alternatively, GDIPIMM graduates with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 can opt to read for the Graduate Diploma in Management (GDMGT) to qualify for the Master of Management (MMGT) degree. Likewise, candidates who have read the GDMGT and achieved a minimum GCPA of 3.0 can choose to continue to take the GDIPIMM to qualify for the MMGT degree. To be awarded the MMGT, the CGPA for both Graduate Diplomas must be a minimum of 3.0.
