Who We Are

JTC is where industries take shape – visit jtc.gov.sg | Follow us on IG @jtc_sg and LinkedIn @JTCCorp.

The business parks we build aren't just for business. They are spaces that the entire community can enjoy - where work, play, live, and learn come together for collaboration.

From One-North to Punggol Digital District, our work doesn’t just change skylines — it creates opportunities, jobs and ecosystems that power Singapore’s future.

If you want to see the impact of your work in the world, you will find it here.

Our History

Singapore’s economy didn’t evolve by chance.
It was intentionally built — one industry, one ecosystem, one generation at a time.

From factories that created jobs, to innovation districts that create ideas, to digital ecosystems that will shape the AI economy — JTC has been part of every transformation.

Now the next chapter belongs to your generation.

1960s – 1970s
Where It All Began

Singapore needed jobs. Families needed stability. The priority was simple — create opportunities quickly.

Jurong’s early industrial estates were built on reclaimed land and big ambition. They gave people their first steady jobs and helped Singapore find its footing in the world.

This was where survival turned into possibility.

1980s
Scale & Industrial Strength

As Singapore found its footing, industries began to grow in scale and sophistication.

Factories became more advanced. Skills deepened. Singapore started competing globally — not just surviving locally.

The focus shifted from simply creating jobs to building industries that could last.

1990s
Knowledge and Research Take Centre Stage

The economy began moving beyond labour into knowledge, research and specialised capabilities.

Business parks and innovation spaces emerged, bringing companies, researchers and talent closer together.

Singapore wasn’t just making things anymore — it was creating ideas and expertise.

2000s
Innovation Becomes Everyday

Technology accelerated. Sustainability gained urgency. Industries became more complex and interconnected.

New districts were designed for collaboration — where startups, global companies and researchers could learn from one another.

The economy became less about buildings, and more about ecosystems.

2010s–Today
Shaping the Future Economy

Today, industries are being reshaped by digitalisation, sustainability and artificial intelligence.

Places like Punggol Digital District and Jurong Innovation District are designed for a future that is still unfolding.

The next transformation is already happening — and it will be shaped by people entering the workforce now.
