Why Yale-NUS
Yale-NUS College is Singapore’s first residential liberal arts and sciences college. Yale-NUS College delivers a distinctive liberal arts education, emphasizing multidisciplinary learning with a research focus. All students pursue the Common Curriculum, which highlights interdisciplinary thought and study over a two-year period; ranging from literature and history to modern social thought, philosophy, quantitative reasoning, and scientific inquiry. Students’ passions are further explored through a chosen major plus optional minor at the end of their second year.
Our four-year, fully residential experience, immerses students in a stimulating intellectual setting. It is characterised by small classes, with a limit of 18 students per seminar, and close interaction among students and faculty from around the world. International students represent almost 50% of the student body. The excellent student to faculty ratio, unparalleled international opportunities and avenues to self-directed learning prepare our graduates for a changing world. A strong co-curricular programme ensures students develop the skills necessary to solve complex problems.

To gain a broader knowledge in a specific area, you will select a major at the end of your second year. To top things off, you will be the driver behind an individually designed research project through your Capstone.
You will also have the opportunity to satisfy your curiosities through a selection of electives across all majors.
