The SME Talent Programme (STP) aims to help local talents from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), Polytechnics and Universities gain industry exposure and secure career opportunities with promising local SMEs through internships, study sponsorships and fresh hire training.

The programme is an initiative by SPRING Singapore, in partnership with participating Trade Associations & Chambers (TACs), ITE, Polytechnics and Universities. The appointed TACs are the key managing partners of this initiative to recruit talents for growing SMEs across industries.

Student’s Eligibility Criteria
  • A Singaporean student who has completed at least the first year of study in ITE, Polytechnic or University. Those who have just graduated or completed NS this year are also welcomed to apply.
  • Has a keen interest to gain hands on experience/ start careers in local SMEs
  • Have good academic results and a positive attitude

Programme Coverage
STP (Internship)
  • Structured internship and mentorship opportunity
  • Monthly internship stipend
STP (Sponsorship) and STP (Fresh Hire)
  • Sponsorship of school fees and study allowance for the remaining year(s) of study*
  • Sign-on bonus upon graduation and joining the SME
  • Career with the sponsoring SME over a two-year period^
* Recent graduates and University students will only receive a sign-on bonus upon joining the SME.
^ Duration of the obligatory bond period for recent graduates is one year, instead of two years.

Funding Support
STP (Internship)
Through the internship programme, students are offered :
  • $800 monthly allowance for ITE and Polytechnic students
  • $1000 monthly allowance for University students
STP (Sponsorship) and STP (Fresh Hire)
Through the study sponsorship and fresh hire programmes, students are offered :
  • Up to $12,000 for ITE final year recipients
  • Up to $26,000 for Polytechnic recipients (from Year 2 onwards)
  • $8,000 for University recipients
Successful candidates will receive training and development opportunities upon graduation. They will also be bounded by the employment terms of the sponsoring SME.
