NEW Scholarship

National Environment & Water (NEW) Scholarship

To ensure environmental sustainability, the National Environment Agency (NEA) and PUB, Singapore's National Water Agency, led by the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources (MEWR), jointly launched the National Environment & Water (NEW) Scholarship in late July 2008.


The NEW Scholarship is an open public scholarship (overseas/local) with a focus on the environment and water sector. NEW Scholars can join either NEA or PUB. There are also opportunities for both undergraduates and fresh graduates to pursue Mid-Term and Masters Scholarship.

Value of Scholarship


Local
  • Maintenance allowance, tuition and compulsory fees, computer and book allowance and hostels fees where applicable.
  • Sponsorship for approved enrichment/ exchange programmes.
  • Possibility of pursuing postgraduate degrees.


  • Overseas
  • Maintenance allowance, tuition and compulsory fees, return airfare, plus allowance for computer, books, settling-in and warm clothing where applicable.
  • Sponsorship for approved enrichment/ exchange programmes.
  • Possibility of pursuing postgraduate degrees.

    Eligibility

  • Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents with outstanding academic results and a noteworthy CCA record.
  • 'A' Level, International Baccalaureate, Polytechnic, NUS High Students, and Undergraduates may apply.

  • Note: For Permanent Residents, confirmation of award will be based on the successful application for Singapore Citizenship.

    • Environmental Science

    Note: For Permanent Residents, confirmation of award will be based on the successful application for Singapore Citizenship.
