► MANAGER (PARKS)

Job Scope:

- Manage and promote parks and greenery in Singapore
- Liaise with the public and other organisations on feedback
- Work with volunteers and other organisation on partnership projects
- Oversee the planning and implementation of maintenance operations by contract and departmental work force
- Liaise with other departments and statutory bodies over horticultural and planning matters
- Organise functions in the parks

Personal Qualities:

- Good public consultation and report writing skills

Entry Requirements:

- A degree in Horticulture, Botany, Biology, Agriculture, Forestry, Soil Science or a related discipline from a recognised university

► MANAGER (GARDENING PROGRAMMES)

Job Scope:

- Implement public outreach activities involving horticulture/gardening and attend to public feedback received on gardening.
- Be involved in preparing promotional material, and provide internal and external horticultural training and consultancy services to agencies and private owners.
- Work closely with Gardening Clubs and Societies.

Personal Qualities:

- Keen interest in the flora of Singapore, especially plants and their care
- Good negotiation and communication skills
- Able to coordinate and manage work projects systematically
- Self-motivator with the ability to coach and guide subordinates

Entry Requirements:

- A good honours degree in Horticulture, or related discipline from a recognised university
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience in working with plants or in gardening
- Preferably a professional accreditation in Horticulture; experience in nursery practices would also be an advantage
- Preferably some experience in promoting public outreach programmes

► MANAGER (STREETSCAPE)

Job Scope:

- Assist in the management of trees and horticulture estates along road verges and open spaces in Singapore
- Manage the trees to sustain optimal greenery
- Responsible for budgeting of work programmes, overseeing the operations by contractors and initiating and implementing development projects to improve the Garden City.

- Work with contractors for tree planting, pruning, removal and transplanting
- Attend to public feedback and provide arboricultural consultancy services to other agencies and private individuals

- Good communication skill is a key attribute

Entry Requirements:

- Degree in Horticulture, Forestry, Botany, Biology, Soil Science, Agriculture or a related discipline from a recognised university

You should have strong interest in research work to undertake field research for NParks.

Job Scope:

- Develop, implement and manage a research program in the areas of general landscape management, horticulture and arboriculture
- Conceptualize research projects to address operational issues
- Have the opportunity to undertake research work in other areas relevant to Garden City, such as urban design and socio-economic studies
- Provide advisory services to internal clients when needed

Personal Qualities:

- Able to work effectively with both internal customers and external partners
- Good analytical skills with knowledge in research methodology

Entry Requirements:

- Degree in Forestry, Horticulture, Botany, Agriculture or related field from a recognized university

► LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

Job Scope:

- Plan and design parks and open spaces
- Provide advice and expertise on landscape design and park development.

Personal Qualities:

- Possess good communication, negotiation and people management skills

Entry Requirements:

- Accredited Landscape Architectural or Architectural Degree
- Three years minimum experience in the landscape architectural or architectural design field
- Knowledge of current design trends, philosophies and ideas
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and/or other Computer Aided drafting and design softwares
- Possess drawing, rendering and project management capabilities

► PLANNING MANAGER (PARKS PLANNING)

You will lead a team in safeguarding parks and green open spaces in Singapore, as well as in exploring alternative land-use arrangements to meet our parks and greenery objectives.

Job Scope:

- Review and formulate NParks’ parks and greenery policies and procedures
- Process land-use proposals from various land-use planning agencies in Singapore
- Engage in various land-use discussion forums

Personal Qualities:

- Good communication and written skills

Entry Requirements:

- Bachelor of Arts (First Class or Second Upper Honour) in Urban Planning, Town Planning, Recreation Planning, Real Estate, Estate Management, Geography or related field of studies
- Graduates from BSc (First Class or Second Upper Honour) in Architecture, Civil & Structural Engineering, Biology, Horticulture, Forestry can also be considered.

► VETERINARIAN

Job Scope:

- Participate in joint project teams e.g. One Health, Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) activities
- Engage in animal health and welfare outreach activities to public and stakeholders e.g. private veterinarians
- Engage in veterinary clinical medicine e.g. Trap-Neuter-Release Management (TNRM) and wildlife management programmes
- Work as part of a team in animal disease contingency planning
- Represent the agency at regional and international platforms
- Conduct regulatory inspections at licensed establishments and other areas
- Plan and develop policies and programmes in support of animal health and welfare
